The seating capacity of the arena is 5,500 people. The arena is named in the honor of the late Alexander Gomelsky, former CSKA coach and honorary president. This is the home of CSKA Moscow Basketball Club, was completed in the year 1979 during the preparations for the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics
