Twenty-five years ago, the world was introduced to the 911 GT3. With a motorsport-derived engine, suspension and transmission, it was one of the first sportscars to bring true racecar thrills and character to the streets. And as with most Porsche firsts, a long list of followers have trailed behind ever since. Which isn’t about to change, because there’s a new 911 GT3 in town.
In both the new GT3 and GT3 with Touring Package, the engine now runs fiercer and breathes easier with revised camshafts and throttle valves. Both transmissions feature shorter gearing for harder charging ahead. A new all-digital instrument cluster with Track Screen display funnels telemetry and diagnostic data to you in real time, chiseling down your lap times. And every GT3 is now equipped with aero-optimized performance components previously reserved for the GT3 RS.
