Description:
Since purchasing my 2022 Triumph Scrambler, it has exhibited excessive vibrations, which the dealer dismissed as ‘normal’ at the time of purchase. However, these vibrations have directly led to multiple mechanical failures while I was riding, putting my safety at risk. The radiator has spontaneously cracked twice over 2.5 years while in operation, causing sudden coolant leaks that could lead to overheating, engine failure, or loss of control. The fuel tank mount bolt failed mid-ride, risking tank instability and a potential fuel leak or fire hazard. These failures appear to stem from a faulty front counterbalance, which causes constant, excessive vibration beyond what should be acceptable. Despite meticulous maintenance and no external damage, critical components continue to fail due to vibration stress. The vehicle and its failed components are available for inspection upon request. These spontaneous failures have already put me at risk while riding. A coolant leak at speed could result in tire slippage, overheating, or sudden mechanical failure, and a compromised fuel tank mount increases the risk of a fire or catastrophic failure. If this issue is not addressed, further failures could lead to serious injury or death. This issue has been confirmed by a different certified Triumph service center. The dealer where I purchased the bike dismissed the vibration as ‘normal,’ but another Triumph-certified service center verified that the excessive vibration is abnormal and is likely the cause of these failures. At this time, the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives have not inspected the vehicle or failed components. No warning lamps or error messages were displayed prior to the failures. However, excessive vibrations have been present since the vehicle was purchased. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this defect and require Triumph to address the excessive vibration before it leads to a fatal accident.
