Total engine failure occurred, leaving me stranded 1500 miles away from home while on a road trip with family. The engine completely shut off on me at highway on ramp speeds, causing me to perform evasive maneuvers to pull over. Vehicle started smoking from engine compartment once parked, causing me and my [XXX] daughter to emergency exit the vehicle on the side of a busy highway. Truck was towed to closest dealer where they held the vehicle for 57 days. It was stated that this recall was the cause of the issue. They did not have a solution to the recall and simply replaced internal damaged engine parts. There were no warning lights or caution lights prior to this event occurring.
