Description:
The contact owns a 2023 Suzuki GSX1300R. The contact stated that while his wife was riding at an undisclosed speed, the motorcycle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the motorcycle failed to restart. The oil warning light was illuminated. The motorcycle was towed to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure, surmising that the fuel that the contact was using had insufficient octane levels, resulting in combustion issues. The contact was advised to use a higher-octane fuel. The fuel was upgraded to a higher octane however, the failure persisted. The motorcycle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and an engineer was sent to inspect the motorcycle. However, the engineer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the engineer was unsuccessful because he had only attempted to cold start the motorcycle. The failure mileage was 2,100.
