The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated, and the Service ABS message was displayed on the instrument panel. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the traction control unit and the ABS needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the dealer was contacted several times and was informed that parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that there was an issue with the vehicle that the manufacturer was working to resolve. The contact stated the failure was a recurrent failure for the past five years. The contact had previously filed a complaint for the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
