Description:
My 2020 Ram 1500 5.7L e-Torque started making a noise. I then received a ‘Battery’ indicator Light, then received an ‘Engine’ indicator light. I was losing voltage on my battery. The truck is now at the Dealership. The alternator has failed (87k miles). No one has the part. It’s been on back order since November 2024. Online research indicates that over 3000 are on back order. I can’t even place an order with Mopar (Genuine Ram Parts Supplier). I’m also told that the repair will be $2300 – seems like a lot for an alternator that you can’t get that can be replace in about an hour.
