The electric power steering (EPS) system on my 2014 Ram 1500 has intermittently failed, most recently when transitioning from idle, such as leaving a parking lot, and during deep turns. This marks the third time I’ve experienced steering-related issues with this truck. Each time the EPS fails, a ‘Service Power Steering’ alert appears, and the steering becomes extremely difficult, posing a serious safety risk, especially in situations requiring precise maneuvering or sudden corrections. A sudden loss of steering control could lead to a collision, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. This issue has been previously repaired twice’once by the original dealer and once under warranty after I purchased the truck, without prior knowledge of the problem. Despite these repairs, the failure has returned, indicating an unresolved or recurring defect. The issue has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a dealer or independent mechanic for this latest occurrence. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
