Description:
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. Additionally, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the message ‘Camshaft Acceleration Error’ was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact used an OBD2 scanner and retrieved DTC: CP0336. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with the same failure and the contact was informed that the t ring needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the repair was rescheduled several times. An appointment with another local dealer, Kama’aina Motors (400 E Kawili St, Hilo, HI 96720) was scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The contact stated that vehicle would be repaired out-of-pocket because the extended warranty was invalid. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure on several occasions however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
