A month ago I heard a noise in the right rear suspension area. I brought it in to Nissan for diagnosis. After a few visits they diagnosed that something in the body of the vehicle cracked due to weak metal used in manufacturing and has caused one of the bolts holding up the struts to break off. I had this reviewed by two Nissan certified mechanics and both advised me that this is extremely rare and seeing as this vehicle has never been in any damage or accident, it has to be due to a manufacturing issue. To fix the issue would mean extensive repair and over $6000. I have had a case open with Nissan for three weeks now and they continue to tell me theyre reviewing it, but giving me no indication on when they will take responsibility for the defect in their vehicle. In the meantime I am not confident in the safety of my vehicle and because this was not caused by an accident my insurance wont pay for a rental car in the meantime. I have attached the quote I got from the Nissan certified mechanic and would like this damage to be put on file in case any other Nissan drivers have had the same issue.
