Description:
The front windshield began leaking into the cabin interior. A windshield replacement has been performed. I paid for the replacement in full. Receipts provided to Land Rover. The auto glass specialist that performed the work performed the replacement of many windshields ( same make, model, year) for the local LR dealer. Safety concerns existed due to the fogging of the windshield interior and the possible water damage to electrical control components. The problem has been documented by a Land Rover authorized auto glass specialist. The windshield replacement was performed by an authorized Land Rover vendor which provided a statement of cause of failure being contaminated glass and primer failure. The cause / nature of the failure is the same as many other vehicles of the same make , mode and year. Also a Class action lawsuit exists for the same problem. The windshield leak presented the symptoms of water intrusion to the interior, resulting in a fogging of the windshield and restricted frontal visibility. Upon contacting the local Land Rover dealer for a resolution to the safety problem, they denied providing help due to the VIN number being out of the posted range and suggested that I contact my insurance company. I felt compelled for safety reasons to seek replacement of the leaking windshield as soon as possible.
