The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The voltage meter increased excessively. The vehicle was started, and the contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking space. The contact turned the vehicle off. The contact allowed the vehicle to remain turned off for a while. The vehicle was started, and a service battery message was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed battery pack. The contact was informed that the battery pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The repair was performed under the recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 24E080000 (Electrical System). The failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and the battery was charging, the contact noticed the front fan was running extremely hard. The contact disconnected the battery charger. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the aluminum battery cover was extremely hot.
