Description:
The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being serviced, the owner was informed that the brake pads, calipers, and rotors were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While the vehicle was having the emissions test performed, there was smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake lines were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after investigating the failure, the vehicle owner related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 148,550.
