The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while turning left at slow speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from the drivers side of the vehicle before the vehicle stalled. An unknown message was displayed. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The failure had gotten progressively worse. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving in stop and go traffic, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers had failed. The contact had the spark plugs and alternator replaced. No other repairs were performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
