The contact’s son was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The dealer informed the contact that the failure could be related to a defective oil pump, and that there were metal shavings inside the oil. The vehicle was then towed to the private dealer where it was purchased, and the same assessment was made. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.
