Description:
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the instrument panel was either partially illuminated, or the extremely low-lit. The contact stated that occasionally the instrument panel was blank. Additionally, back over prevention camera was occasionally blinking or was inoperable, failing to provide an image as needed. The contact had to pull over and restart the vehicle for the vehicle to return to normal operation. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention). The vehicle was taken to the local dealers, who were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer stated that the failure might have been caused by the rain. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Peltier Ford (200 TX-63 Spur, Longview, TX 75601); however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
