The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. There was an abnormally loud cranking sound upon starting the vehicle. While driving at highway speeds, there was a steady abnormal sound detected. The engine, traction control, low tire pressure, fuel, and oil warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, tires were inflated by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics who determined that the steering angle sensor and steering wheel module needed reprogramming, an alignment was needed. Additionally, the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), BCM (Body Control Module), and the drivers and front seat module needed to be replaced. The restraint control module, steering wheel module, and brake system had failed, and the powertrain control module (PCM) needed to be replaced. The contact was unsure if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
