I am a former product manager at Evenflo. During my tenure, I offered a potential solution to make the Evenflo 360 stronger so that it ds not detach from the base. I had solved a very similar engineering challenge to a different product previously with another company. At first they tried to tell me it was all operator error, but IMO, it was not. Later the AVP of Product told me that it did in fact detach in testing, but insisted they corrected it¦ and told me to never write that in an email. Then they told me that my solution would add cost, which I believe could have easily been negotiated into the product cost or at minimum be very insignificant. I believe that my passion for safety in this area caused friction between me and my Director (whos dating her boss the AVP of Product) and ultimately they let me go and had no real reason when I asked them why.
