The contact’s wife owns a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the front driver’s side and passenger’s side doors failed to lock as needed while pressing the lock button on the key fob or the lock button located on the exterior of the doors. Additionally, the contact stated that upon parking and attempting to turn off the vehicle, the message ‘Shift Lever to Park’ was displayed. The contact stated that after shifting out of park(P) and shifting back to park(P) several times, the vehicle responded as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown diagnosis was made. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at the contact’s expense because the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
