The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for an air bag recall, the contact was asked to move the vehicle forward and stop at a certain spot; however, the vehicle failed to stop immediately when the brake pedal was pressed. The contact had to apply an excessive amount of force on the brake pedal for the vehicle to roll to a stop. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was informed that the brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure persisted and had occurred several times. The failure was most persistent when on an incline, in reverse, and during colder weather. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
