Depressing Brake downshifts if RPMs are low enough to reduce speed (2000-2500RPM, so next gear does not exceed 3600RPM). Taking foot off gas sets coasting maximum speed. If speed rises 5 km/hr 3 mi/hr the transmission downshifts to reduce speed to the speed the foot came off the gas pedal. Especially useful on Semis with Automatic transmissions.
