The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was delayed while being displayed. The contact stated that a message that the Collision Assist was not available was displayed. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle lurched forward several times. Additionally, the contact stated that upon attempting to drive from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle lurched forward while responding, and the vehicle jerked while driving. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot. The contact stated that upon shifting to reverse(R), the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the transmission was taken apart, and the contact was informed that the transmission had failed and there were metal shavings in the transmission. The vehicle was then towed to Goldsberry’s Transmission, where it was determined that the transmission needed to be rebuilt or replaced.
