While driving my 2013 JEEP Grand Cherokee on [XXX] the passenger side front headrest deployed with no warning. There was a passenger in the seat at the time of the deployment. My local Jeep dealership stated the headrest wasn’t covered by warranty even though an extended warranty letter was sent that there was a known issue with the headrest. There are NO warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Once the headrest deploys it CAN’T be reset. The local JEEP dealership is unable to inspect or repair UNTIL the headrest deploys. The driver side headrest MAY STILL DEPLOY. This issue can cause an accident, injury, or worse. I had to pay for a repair of a known issue that I could take no preventive action. A call to Chrysler resulted in no resolution or reimbursement of $1,250.23 I paid. I have the deployed headrest.
