I bought the Volkswagen ID4 on lease from one of the Volkswagen dealer Dick Hannah based out of Portland, OR. It’s 4 year lease, paying $760/month. I have received many recalls from Volkswagen, one of them was door handle and lock issue. I have complained to Volkswagen that door get open while i am driving the car and this needs to be fixed, they have said to me that, they do not have any parts to fix this and placed me in queue from last 4 months. I am not able to drive the car where i am paying $40K on lease payments in 4 years. This is really a safety concern where i do not take my kids into car and not driving much. I tried to call Volkswagen and ask them to cancel lease, they have asked me to pay remaining months payment which is $18K. I am not able to cancel lease, not able to drive, and they are not able to fix. I would request federal govt to have strict rules for auto makes outside of USA and have some penalty to pay to customers if they have recall. They send so many recalls, than what is use of buying new cars and paying them huge money, there should be some amount to pay to customer if there are recalls. This is safety concern to US Citizens and me.
