For several months (around early December) the steering wheel has been snapping in and out of place and not steering smoothly and had a subtle clicking sound. It felt as if it was catching on something, but the car was NOT pulling or shaking. I brought it to a local auto shop (that replaced my tires) and then Tire Kingdom and neither found any issues and ran a diagnostic report. Wheel alignment was good. I knew something was not right and my husband experienced the same sort of popping in and out of place sensation (felt like it was catching on something) as well. I took it to the Honda dealer today (March 12) and was informed I needed to replace the rack and pinion. My car was not part of this Honda recall [XXX] ), but it sounds like quite a similar issue.
