We have found that the carseat belt is fraying at the base of the seat rendering this seat unusable as it would not keep our daughter safe in the event of an accident. We have attempted to work with the manufacturer on a resolution for this defect however they will not take responsibility and claim that it is due to ‘external environmental factors’ but cannot provide a single example of what would have caused this. It appears that the belt is rubbing on the seat base when in use which resulted in the fraying. We have taken excellent care of the seat, use it properly, have have had it inspected upon install by a CPS technician. This is a clear defect and would like Evenflo to honor their warranty and take action on this defect. A quick search found that other parents have experienced this exact issue which is concerning as Evenflo had been made aware of multiple families impacted and even more babies using an unsafe product.
