The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds or while the vehicle was idling vehicle, the ABS warning light illuminated. The contact stated that on another occasion, while the vehicle drove over a pothole or speed bump, the warning light illuminated with an audible chime. The contact stated that occasionally while depressing the brake pedal, there was a continuous audible chime. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was diagnosed with hydraulic control unit failure. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because parts were not yet available.
