Driving at 65 mph on an interstate highway the infotainment console suddenly shut down and then the entire vehicle lost acceleration and came to quick slow crawl. There was NO braking, accelerating or changing 2wd/4wd modes before this happened. This posed a safety hazard to driver behind me as I did not have time to apply the brake pedal, not sure if the brake lights would have worked anyways in afterthought. There were NO warning lamps, messages or any other symptoms of the problem prior to failure. It just instantly happened. The vehicle was driven with the slow crawl off the interstate to the nearest parking lot. The dealer was notified by phone immediately with no remediation. The vehicle was shut down completely and restarted after a few minutes. The infotainment console slowly turned on. This is the second time this has happened. The vehicle has been to the dealer’s service center for both incidents. The dealer stated the 1st time it may be a bad battery but not sure. The 2nd time they did not see any error codes on their reader, and they left it at that. They could not replicate the safety hazard. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representative. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
