The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front drivers side door failed to unlock while using the key fob or the key. The contact stated that while inside the vehicle, the symbol showing that the door was ajar was displayed. The contact had to manipulate the door lock and click the fob several times to secure the door lock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the door locking mechanism had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the contact of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 17V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) and 17V652000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.
