AC
United Kingdom
Sports car manufacturer. One of the oldest independent brands in the UK, founded by John Weller and John Portwine in 1902.
Throughout its history, it has changed its name, location and owners many times. Starting in the 1930s, its main specialization was the production of sports cars. The company gained worldwide fame thanks to Carroll Shelby, who turned the purely British AC Ace roadster into a real Shelby Cobra supercar with an American Ford V8 engine.
After World War II, in addition to sports cars, sedans and coupes began to be produced. The company’s most famous model is the 1962 Cobra.
