Description:
I leased a 2023 Genesis GV60, which was misrepresented as new but had multiple safety recalls, including ICCU battery failure, AWD/powertrain malfunction, and seatbelt defects. From the start, the seatbelts didnat secure properly, and the car failed NY state inspection, causing me to lose a job that required a safe vehicle. Despite six visits to different service centers in 3 months, no actual repairs were completed. Mechanics admitted they didnat understand the battery defect. The recalls later disappeared from the system without resolution. This is highly unsafe and deceptive. Genesis refused accountability, claiming they donat control dealership practicesa”yet they allowed a dealer to fraudulently lease a car with open recalls. They also filed a false insurance claim under my name, inflating my premium and causing me over $33,000 in damages. I visited five other luxury dealers and confirmed that other brands do not allow demo or recall vehicles to be sold this way. Genesisa refusal to fix or buy back the car and their attempt to cover up recall issues reveals a systemic failure in recall enforcement and corporate responsibility. I urge NHTSA to investigate.
