The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. The contact stated that after a while the sound dissipated, and the contact was able to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the ticking sound returned the next day while starting the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the cam phasers had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the dealer where the vehicle was purchased, to schedule an appointment; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
