The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to a lower gear and the instrument panel failed to function as intended. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over and waited for a while before the vehicle was restarted and function as intended. The failure progressively worsened. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the transmission lead frame was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to the Customer Satisfaction Program: 19N01; however, the VIN was not included.
