The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 80 MPH with the cruise control activated, the transmission downshifted to 4th gear, and there was smoke coming from the front end of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and became aware that transmission fluid was leaking on the road. The contact waited before continuing to drive to the residence. After approximately one hour, the contact restarted the vehicle and there was no more transmission fluid leaking. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that there was no recall on the VIN. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
