My Electronic Power Steering Rack failed intermittently. After further research, I discovered that other Ram year models between 2013 and 2019 had recalls on the electric assited power steering rack. Unfortunately, my VIN is NOT subject to any of the recalls mentioned above even though some of the parts are the same. I believe that the Rack or it’s inner individual parts is defective in it’s design and unsafe, as the power steering can fail during operation, causing a loss of control and could result in a crash. The part has now completely failed and the vehicle is parked and not driveable. It is available for inspection here at my residence. I have not had the truck inspected by a Dodge dealer since the VIN is NOT under a steering recall. I am certain that it should be. Driving the vehicle could be dangerous and deadly with this kind of failure.
