We have had this problem more than once but this morning it nearly caused an accident. My husband was driving to work and all of a sudden the car’s automatic breaking system caused the car to stop dead, causing the car behind him to have to swerve up on the sidewalk to avoid hitting him. He was not going over a metal plate, there waDSs no car stopped in front of him. This has happened at least ten times in the time we have owned the car and we have been INCREDIBLY lucky that it has not caused an accident, but it’s still clearly a problem. We have complained about this to the dealership when we bring it in but they just shrug since they can’t reproduce it and it seems to happen randomly. Just all of a sudden driving along BRAKE will flash on the dashboard and the car will stop abruptly.
