Description:
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. Additionally, after stopping at a traffic light, the vehicle fishtailed while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the cruise control feature was inoperable. The ABS, traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), and brake warning lights were illuminated. The ‘Service Traction Control’ and ‘Service Trailer Brake System’ messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the ABS control module needed to be replaced, but the part was on backorder. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
