The contact’s son owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the exterior mirror housing on the drivers and passengers side mirrors had started to melt due to sunlight exposure. The contact had called two dealers and was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The contact sent a letter with pictures to the manufacturer and received a letter back stating that the cost of repair would not be covered. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure by phone and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,500.
