Description:
In February of 2024 my 2022 Honda Passport wouldn’t let me reverse out of my sloped driveway. I realized the emergency brake must be frozen and sure enough as soon as it hit 33F I was able to release the brake and drive the vehicle. I figured just a little water got into the cable in the rear. In January of 2025 I found myself with the same problem with another frozen brake. I took it into the Honda dealership and after a week they found out there was a leak in the body seam that let water under the driver’s seat and froze the emergency brake cables. According to the mechanic, this was either the result of a major collision or a defect. Since the vehicle hasn’t been in a collision, this is a concerning defect that Honda has so far refused to cover, including the damage to the soaked carpet. Both times, I had driven for 3-8 hours in pouring rain on the highway. Unacceptable for a 2- year old vehicle to have this issue.
