The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 to 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed, and there were metal shavings inside the fuel system. The dealer determined that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost and was towed back to the residence and was not been driven since. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
