The Propulsion System Error warning light (a red car icon with an exclamation point) has appeared multiple times since I purchased the vehicle. This has occurred while driving, charging, or turning on the vehicle, with no apparent cause or trigger that I can identify. I have made several attempts to have the issue resolved by Honda, but they repeatedly provide excuses, such as the unavailability of an EV technician or the lack of proper equipment to update the car’s computer software. During the most recent occurrence, I was driving when the error light came on, and I experienced reduced acceleration’something I dont recall happening before. This presents a significant safety concern for me and others on the road. A sudden reduction in speed increases the risk of being rear-ended by an inattentive driver, or worse, becoming stranded in the middle of a travel lane. Honda has inspected the vehicle previously and documented the error codes and they have just cleared the codes or updated the software on the car. No additional symptoms were present leading up to the issue. This ongoing problem needs urgent attention to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle.
