The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving 25 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, and the vehicle started to vibrate, and almost stalled. The contacts daughter safely drove to the residence, and the vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there were two engine cylinders that were inoperable, and that the engine needed to be disassembled for additional diagnostic testing. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V121000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,466.
